May 9th, 2009

PRT is a very effective tool that  can be used to kill the processes of various viruses. Some viruses run under the name of copy.exe, temp1.exe, temp2.exe , svchost.exe etc.

Often, these viruses will disable the double click behavior. Thus the drives do not oven upon double click or sometimes new windows are open when clicking on other files & folders (eg. many windows of my computer is open at taskbar.)  PRT clears all the references of copy.exe from the autorun.inf files on all drives. This includes any pen drives, memory card etc also.

PRT effectivley deletes the subkeys under:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MountPoints2 key which are created by Copy.exe file virus.
