IBM beep codes- There are so many models but these beep codes are generally match with the many models of IBM motherboard some time it vary because new technologies are introduced in a short time period .

Beep Codes Indications

1 Short beep

Normal POST, System is ok.

No beep

Problem in Power supply or Motherboard

2 Short beeps

POST Error – Code on Display

Continuous  beep

Power supply or Motherboard error

Repeating short beeps

Power supply or Motherboard error

1 short, 1 long beep

System Motherboard  error

1 long, 2 short beeps

Display adapter error (MDA/CGA)

*MDA- monochrome display adapter.

*CGA- color graphic adapter.

1 long, 3 short beeps

Display adapter error (EGA/VGA)

*EGA- enhance graphics adapter

*VGA-video graphics array

3 long beeps

keyboard card or keyboard error

One beep, blank screen or incorrect display

fault  in Video circuitry

Solutions:

No beep & power supply solution:-

1st step – check the power source (ups, invertor supply).

2nd step – check power supply cable.

3rd step- check power supply (motherboard required wattage).

4th step- check the fuse of the power supply.

5th step- check the power is supplied on motherboard or not.

6th step- change motherboard or repair it in repairing shop .

*The best way is to check by using working power supply on that motherboard.

1 long and 3 short (keyboard solution):-

1st step- check the back panel keyboard port that the keyboard connector is plug-in properly or not .If this problem occur then after plug-in properly then restart the computer system.

2nd step- check the keys of your keyboard that the keys are not stuck.

3rd step – change the keyboard.

4th step- if problem re-occur then check with USB keyboard.

5th step- repairs it in IBM service station.
