How to find the IP address of the email sender ?



Are you sometimes curious about where do these spam mails come from? You can easily find their IP Address from where they originate and block them.

If you are using GMail or Yahoo! Mail, You can easily find out the IP address of the email sender.

Gmail Users:
1) Long into your account and open the mail.
2) Display the header (if not displayed)
3) Then select the option as shown in the figure

GMail

This will show you the original mail. Here you can find the ip address of the sender.

Yahoo Users:
1) Long into your account and open your email.
2) In the mail, look for option : Full header as shown in the figure

YMail

3) This will display the full header. Here you will find the senders IP Address.

    Its a really nice tutorial, Really great for people who dunno much about how emailing systems work. Earlier it was possible only on mailing clients. Well hope countries don’t get branded for spam like the Nigeria spam.

    Nice tutorial. FYI, I have the ‘old view’ for yahoo and the full headers option is located as a hyperlink in the lower right corner of the email.
