Stay connected to internet while traveling. In my previous post about Vodafone GPRS data plans for prepaid customers I told you about GPRS data plans available with Vodafone prepaid which will not work for surfing on laptop of PC. However, today when I called Vodafone CC he confirmed me that I can use these plans for surfing on laptop. So I have tried 4 Rs data plan for testing. In this post I will share my experience with this plan and tell you how to activate 4 Rs data pack on your mobile.
To activate
Send SMS
ACT GPRS4 to 144
For Settings SMS
S IMEI to 52586 (you can view your mobile IMIE by pressing *#06#)
Follow these steps for surfing on Laptop or PC
Open Tools->Settings->Connection->Packet Data (on Your Nokia handset)
And type
portalnmms in Access Point field
Now connect your mobile with Laptop via IR, Bluetooth or Data Cable
And create a dialup connection with following setting
Username: (leave blank)
Password : ( leave blank)
Dial: *99***1#
Connect using this dialup connection and surf on laptop
I am getting about 5-10 Kbps downloading speed. Please share your experience.
Note: GPRS Data plan will take 4 hours to activate. So wait for confirmation message otherwise uses charge 10Paisa/10Kb will deduct from your main account balance.

I cannot connect to the pc via bluetooth to access net. If i use nokia pc suite, it tells “The modem may be in use by another application or not configured properly”.
Same if i try it via dial up connection.
i cant chech my gprs balance it says wrong keyword

first make sure that which is ur phone modem.. first delete all the modems avialable on ur pc.. for dis go to control panel-phone and modem- click the top modem button-right click on all modems and remove it
then again connect ur phone to ur pc.. this should be done from the first step ie authentication nd all shud be done.. now ul be having only one modem installed in ur pc.. now use this modem in the first while connecting through nokia pc suite.. definetly ur problem wil be solved
