The new DVD technology will enable the users to store upto 45 terabytes of data in a single disc. This is the new power of DVD: DVD Power!
DVD power! : Dr James Chon of the Swinburne University of Technology, holds up a DVD containing new technology that can store data in five dimensions, in Melbourne. The disc holds nearly 10,000 times more data than standard DVD’s, a study published in the peer-reviewed journal Nature stated.

With every passing day there is a new improvement in memory storage, right when we see flash memory making new heights, we see developments in the conventional disc storage technology. Dunno who would win in the end, but according to me flash memory storage has more potential than what the discs can offer.

“Flash” you tend to use more often then “Disks”
But for long term storage of a whole lot of programs and files I belive the new DVD’s have it hands down!
